Git Strategies
It’s been a while since the last post…
I came across this after a recent discussion with a new coworker and it’s one of the better Git strategies I’ve seen, and one we’re using in practice with only a few variations that fit this organization better.
It still surprises me how often people struggle to understand, or perhaps not understand, maybe how they struggle to aclimatize to the differences between an SCM like subversion which they’re used to, and one of the newer decentralized ones like Git, Mercurial etc.
A team needs a good branching strategy, and even if you don’t have lots of developers, lots of projects, or tons of code you can utilize a solid branching strategy for great results. Git makes this so easy to pull off that you should always be doing it on all of your projects.
